The race
The Varese City Run returns from 23 to 25 October 2026 for its seventh edition, with its village in the Giardini Estensi gardens in the centre of Varese: all of Sunday 25 October's races start and finish here. It is organised by Sportpiù SSD with the support of the City of Varese. The programme includes the Varese Half Marathon, a FIDAL national race over the half marathon distance that the organisers describe as technical and fast, also in a non-competitive version; the VareseTEN, a FIDAL-certified 10 km run either as an official race or non-competitively; the 5 km Family Run for families, groups of friends and four-legged friends; and the VCR4Charity solidarity relay, four legs on the half marathon course in support of the Fondazione Renato Piatti and the Fondazione Giacomo Ascoli. Over the three days the village hosts partner stands, running gear, play areas and food & drink.
All races start and finish in the Giardini Estensi, in via Sacco, and wind through the streets of central Varese on roads closed to traffic. The half marathon measures a FIDAL-certified 21.097 km, the VareseTEN a FIDAL-certified 10 km and the Family Run 5 km. In the half marathon, refreshment points are at km 5, 10, 15 and 20 and at the finish, with sponge stations at km 7.5, 12.5 and 17.5; in the 10 km, a refreshment point at km 5 and at the finish and a sponge station at km 7.5.
Water and supplements are available at every point. The official half marathon and 10 km routes are published by the organisers on Google My Maps.
