The race
The Due Mari Marathon, the marathon of the city of Taranto, holds its second edition on Sunday 15 November 2026, organised by ASD Nuova Atletica Taranto and valid as the Apulian regional championship for seniors, under-23s and masters. The start is at 8:30 from Piazza Maria Immacolata, in the centre of the city of the two seas, the Mar Grande and the Mar Piccolo.
Alongside the marathon there are the 19 km of Taranto, finishing at Parco Cimino with free shuttles back to the square, and a non-competitive 5 km family run in memory of Mariella Fiorentini, with a lap of the old town. Fees range from €35 to €65 for the marathon and €19 for the 19 km, with entries online only on ICRON.
The time limit is 6 hours 30 minutes. After the race there are prize-givings, a pasta party, beer and local products offered by sponsors; bibs are collected at the village set up at the Aragonese Castle.
Course
The marathon and the 19 km start at 8:30 from Piazza Maria Immacolata in central Taranto; the 19 km finishes at Parco Cimino on the Mar Piccolo, from where free shuttles take runners back to the square. The 5 km family run loops through the old town and returns to Piazza Maria Immacolata.
